Chatham Strait Charters
Chatham Strait Charters is located in Port Alexander
on the southern tip of Baranof Island in Southeast
Alaska. The surrounding waters deliver and abundant
supply of salmon, halibut and bottom fish which make
for choice sports fishing. This part of the country
also yields and awesome array of wildlife, whales,
sea otters, bald eagles, deer and brown bear that
allow for spectacular sightseeing. Chatham Strait
Charters is a family owned business, operated by
Glen and Shanna Smith with their two daughters,
Shelsea and MaryEllen. Glen in a licensed 50 ton
captain with 16 years of commercial/sport-fishing
experience in the area. Captain Smith will
transport you to the fishing grounds to begin your
adventure in the 33 ft. F/V Moontrapper.
Port Alexander
Port Alexander is an isolated rural
community of approximately 80 year round residents.
The community's economic base is primarily made up
of commercial fishing. Port Alexander is only
accessible by float plane or boat, there are no
roads. With this limited access, Port Alexander is
a fisherman's paradise.
